Info- bionika és érzékelő számítógépek

In recent years a new area of research has developed at the meeting point of information technologies and bio-technologies. This new field will quickly create thousands of new products and services and may change the human way of life. The lecture presents many examples to illustrate fascinating new research in bionics or info-bionics. One of these, the Bi-i, developed by Hungarian researchers is the fastest camera-computer in the world. The practical applications of bionics are boundless. The lecture outlines the most important possible applications from autonomous artificial perceptive, calculating and intervention tools and interfaces built into living organisms, to prostheses replacing necrotized tissues or medicament feeders, all of which pave the way for artificial--living symbioses. A minimal capability of vision has already been restored to a few blind patients and some encouraging results have been achieved in the restoration of the partial movement of paralysed limbs. Undoubtedly, the most complex task is the establishment of direct contact with the brain, this, of course, not only holds opportunities but carries enormous risks and great bio-ethic responsibility.
