Tibor Palánkai, economist and member of HAS, provides an overview of the European integration process. The lecture traces the birth of the idea of unification to provide a theoretical framework, and then analyzes the concept of integration. Beyond this, it aims to answer questions that are closer to our everyday life, such as the advantages and disadvantages of accession to the European Union. Towards the end of the lecture, he addresses the future of the EU, possible directions of further EU enlargement, and the changes caused by the enlargement process.
